The Sustainability forum is one of Opera Europa's newest forums, created in 2010 and bringing together professionals involved in sustainability issues in their companies (Eco-Advisers and similar). It aims at pooling experience from opera houses most committed in matters of sustainability in order to draw comparisons and find European solutions.
The steering group of the forum is composed of:
Armance Duvivier, Sales and Marketing, Opéra de Dijon
Jan Kuppens, Facility & IT Manager, Opera Vlaanderen, Antwerp
Jonathan Suffolk, Technical Director, Royal National Theatre, London
Kathie Bishop, Facilities and Sustainability Officer, English National Opera, London
Sophie Cornet, Eco-Advisor, La Monnaie/De Munt, Brussels
Sophie Lely, Head of Workshops, Festival d'Aix-en-Provence
The group has created an online forum in order to exchange and share information. It is open to everybody interested in these matters, you just need to register. If you do not have a google account, you can find some guidelines here on how to access it.
The group met in Brussels early September 2016 in order to brainstorm on the future topics of discussion and the direction the group wants to take. As a consequence, a proper forum meeting took place in London on 23 and 24 January. Future actions and topics the group would like to concentrate on, will be announced here soon.
